Can cats eat corn?
Cats Protection lists corn among the vegetables cats can have if they like it. Cats rely on animal-based food (Merck); a few kernels are a rare extra, with treats at most 10–15% of daily calories (Cornell).
How to serve it: just a few cooked kernels, no butter or salt, never the cob
Good to know: Don't confuse it with the houseplant called corn plant (Dracaena fragrans), which ASPCA lists as toxic to cats.
Questions
Can dogs eat corn?
Yes, but only a little. AKC says plain corn kernels are fine. Never give corn on the cob: a swallowed cob can cause a serious intestinal obstruction.
