Questions
What is NFE?
NFE stands for nitrogen-free extract – roughly, the carbohydrates. It isn’t on the label; you calculate it: 100 minus moisture, crude protein, fat, fiber and ash.
Why dry matter?
Wet food is 70–85% water. Only without the water can you see how much protein or fat it really contains.
Does the calculator tell me if a food is good?
No. It only converts numbers. Whether a food suits your pet depends on more than the label.
