Can guinea pigs eat dandelion?
PDSA, the Royal Veterinary College and the Swiss animal welfare society list dandelion as suitable greens for guinea pigs.
How to serve it: unsprayed, not from the roadside
Good to know: Dandelion is very high in calcium (NC State), so not in large amounts every day: rotate it with other greens.
Questions
Can guinea pigs eat dandelion every day?
No, only now and then and in small amounts.
Can rabbits eat dandelion?
Yes, but only a little. PDSA says only small amounts, as dandelion can make rabbits go to the toilet more often. The RSPCA lists it among daily greens, so we decide cautiously.
