Can cats eat ham?
Ham is heavily salted, cooked ham included – and too much salt is harmful to cats (Pet Poison Helpline). RSPCA advises against processed meats for pets because they’re extremely high in salt. Fatty edges can predispose cats to pancreatitis (Cornell, FDA).
Good to know: Dry-cured ham such as prosciutto is never cooked, and Cornell advises against uncooked meat for cats. In wild boar ham, Aujeszky’s disease virus stays infectious for up to 20 days (FLI).

Better not. Ham is heavily salted and higher in fat than many other meats. Too much salt can be toxic to dogs, and too much fat can lead to pancreatitis (AKC). AKC still considers a small piece once in a while OK.
