Can cats eat salami?
Salami is very salty and fatty: too much salt is harmful to cats (Pet Poison Helpline), and fat from meat can predispose cats to pancreatitis (Cornell). It’s also cured raw, and Cornell advises against uncooked meat for cats.
Good to know: It often contains garlic, which is toxic to cats (ASPCA). Wild boar salami adds Aujeszky’s disease virus, which stays infectious in cured meat for up to 20 days (FLI).

Questions
Can dogs eat salami?
Better not. Salami is very salty and fatty, and neither is good for dogs. AKC says pepperoni, a spicy salami, is too fatty and too spicy for dogs, and too much salt can cause vomiting, diarrhea or even seizures.
