Can dogs eat gingerbread?
ASPCA warns that fatty, sweet and spicy foods can be dangerous to pets. The small amount of nutmeg in baking is very unlikely to cause serious toxicity (Pet Poison Helpline); chocolate coating and xylitol are the bigger risks.
Good to know: Chocolate-coated gingerbread is toxic, and sugar-free baked goods can contain xylitol (ASPCA).
