Can dogs eat marzipan?

Marzipan is mostly almonds and sugar. ASPCA says nuts such as almonds are high in fat and can cause vomiting, diarrhea and pancreatitis.

Good to know: Some marzipan treats are rolled in cocoa, and cocoa powder has the highest theobromine levels (ASPCA). Chocolate-covered marzipan is toxic.
