Can dogs eat hazelnuts?
Hazelnuts aren’t toxic to dogs, but AKC says tree nuts are better left to people. The hard shells can cause choking and blockages (AKC), and nuts are high in fat and can cause pancreatitis (ASPCA).
Good to know: Nuts that have fallen under the hazel bush can grow mold that can be toxic to dogs (AKC). Chocolate hazelnut spread contains cocoa, and chocolate is toxic to dogs (ASPCA).
