Can dogs eat pomegranate?

AKC says pomegranate isn’t toxic to dogs, but that doesn’t make it a safe treat. The seeds don’t break down easily and can cause vomiting, diarrhea or a blockage, and the rind and stem can block the gut (AKC).

Good to know: Put rinds in a trash can your dog can’t get into (AKC). If your dog got into pomegranate seeds, chocolate-covered seeds or rinds, call your vet right away (AKC).
