Can dogs eat cherries?
According to ASPCA and AKC, cherry stems, leaves and pits contain cyanide; only the flesh does not. AKC lists cherries among the fruits dogs should avoid.
Good to know: Ate whole cherries or pits: watch for dilated pupils, difficulty breathing and red gums and call your vet (AKC: veterinary emergency).
