Can horses eat apples?
Yes, horses can eat apples in small amounts. Penn State Extension lists apples as a safe treat and says to cut them into slices so your horse doesn’t choke. ASPCA says the stems, leaves and seeds contain cyanide, and the RSPCA warns against large amounts.
How to serve it: in slices or long strips, seeds removed
Good to know: The British Horse Society advises always slicing juicy treats such as apples and carrots lengthwise, never into rounds or cubes.
