Can budgies eat sprouts?
Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat sprouts. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) suggests freshly sprouted seeds for variety. The Swiss animal welfare society (STS) names sprouts as a protein food, usually once a week in small amounts, and Purdue counts alfalfa sprouts among legumes.
How to serve it: very fresh, well rinsed
Good to know: The STS warns that sprouts spoil quickly and should only be fed very fresh.
