Can cockatiels eat corn?
Yes, cockatiels can eat fresh corn in small amounts. RSPCA Australia lists corn among yellow vegetables for birds. Purdue suggests fresh corn on the cob with part of the husk left on to keep birds busy. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT), on the other hand, lists corn among the grains in a cockatiel’s staple seed diet, so we count dried corn kernels as grain, like oats and wheat, and rate them “Only a little.”
How to serve it: fresh, unsalted, a piece of the cob
