Can cockatiels eat mushrooms?

Better not: cockatiels shouldn’t eat mushrooms. The Merck Veterinary Manual includes some varieties of mushrooms on its list of common household poisons for birds. The list doesn’t say which ones, and we found no bird source that recommends edible mushrooms.

Good to know: If your cockatiel got hold of mushrooms or seems unwell, the AAV says to get help from an avian vet immediately, even if you only suspect it.
