Can cockatiels eat sweet potatoes?
Yes, cockatiels can eat sweet potatoes in small amounts. Purdue and RSPCA Australia both list sweet potatoes among yellow and orange vegetables for parrots and birds. The Merck Veterinary Manual names them among vitamin A–rich vegetables.
How to serve it: peeled, finely chopped, unseasoned
Good to know: Regular potatoes are a different plant – we found no bird source on them, so if in doubt, don’t give them.
