Can horses eat plums?
Yes, but only a little: horses can eat plums. Rutgers says plums aren’t generally listed as toxic to horses. But stems, leaves and seeds can produce cyanide, and a horse could choke on a pit. So Rutgers advises taking the pit out and offering only the flesh.
How to serve it: pit removed, just a few
Good to know: Rutgers warns that a horse could colic from gorging on ripe plums and suggests removing plum trees or fencing horses far away from them, so fallen fruit and leaves can’t be eaten.
