Can budgies eat lettuce?
Yes, budgies can eat lettuce in small amounts. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) and the German Animal Welfare Federation list lettuce as a vegetable for budgies. UC Davis names leaf and romaine lettuce, and the Merck Veterinary Manual lists endive among vitamin A–rich foods you can offer in smaller amounts. The AAV suggests clipping leafy greens to the cage.
How to serve it: washed, whole leaves to shred
Good to know: We found no source on iceberg lettuce specifically. The German Animal Welfare Federation recommends several kinds of vegetables each day rather than lettuce alone.
