Can budgies eat sweet potatoes?
Yes, budgies can eat sweet potatoes in small amounts. RSPCA Australia and Purdue count sweet potato among the yellow or orange vegetables for birds. UC Davis lists it too, and the Merck Veterinary Manual names it among vitamin A–rich foods you can offer in smaller amounts.
How to serve it: peeled, in small pieces
Good to know: Our German and Swiss budgie sources don’t mention sweet potatoes, and we found no bird source that recommends regular potatoes as food.
