Can cats eat xylitol?
Merck states cats are not at risk of xylitol-induced hypoglycemia or liver injury, and FDA says it doesn't seem as dangerous for cats. Cornell still lists xylitol as toxic to cats – so don't give xylitol products.

Questions
Can dogs eat xylitol?
No – toxic. In dogs, xylitol triggers a strong insulin release; blood sugar can drop dangerously within 10 to 60 minutes. Larger amounts can cause liver damage (FDA, Merck).
