Can cockatiels eat honey?

Better not: cockatiels shouldn’t eat honey. Purdue says sugar and candy should never be offered, and the Merck Veterinary Manual lists sweets among foods not to feed birds. The RSPCA mentions honey only as a trick to get parrots to try new food, so we err on the side of caution.
