Can budgies eat nuts?
Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat nuts. The RSPCA says parrots should get seeds and nuts only occasionally and in very small amounts, for example as a reward. NC State calls them good treats to use sparingly, and Purdue counts them as “dessert,” about 5% of the diet.
How to serve it: unsalted, a tiny piece
Good to know: Merck links high-fat foods such as seeds and nuts to obesity. None of our sources names individual nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews) as food. For peanuts, see their own page.
