Can cats eat goose?
Better not: cats shouldn’t eat goose. Roast goose is too fatty and too heavily seasoned, says Germany’s Federal Chamber of Veterinarians. It can cause diarrhea and vomiting in cats, so leftovers don’t belong in the bowl. Cooked goose bones splinter and can cause serious stomach injuries.
Good to know: Stuffing often contains onion and garlic and is toxic to cats; gravy is usually salty and seasoned with garlic (Cats Protection). Cornell says fat from meat can predispose cats to pancreatitis. VCA doesn’t see that link in cats.

Questions
Is goose meat without skin okay?
We found no expert source on meat without skin specifically. The German Federal Chamber of Veterinarians calls the meat from the roast too fatty overall. According to USDA, roasted goose meat without skin has more than three times the fat of turkey. Cornell says a very small piece of lean turkey is likely OK, so that’s the better choice.
Can cats eat raw goose?
No: Cats can catch the H5N1 bird flu virus from raw poultry, among other sources, and they can get severely ill from it (Cornell, German Animal Welfare Federation). Salmonella is a risk too (BfR).
