Questions
What amount of eggs is okay for my dog?
All treats together: at most 10% of daily calories. For a spayed or neutered dog with normal activity weighing 22 lb, that’s up to 1.4 oz (41 g) (about 1 egg) a day. Work out the amount for your dog above.
Can cats eat eggs?
Yes, but only a little. Raw eggs can carry Salmonella and E. coli, and the avidin in raw egg white binds biotin (ASPCA, Merck). Cooking destroys avidin (Merck) – so eggs only fully cooked and as a rare extra.
