Can cats eat Christmas cookies?
Better not: cats shouldn’t eat Christmas cookies. Germany’s Federal Chamber of Veterinarians says Christmas cookies have too much sugar and fat. They can cause diarrhea or vomiting (Vetmeduni Vienna), and they turn toxic with raisins or chocolate (Federal Chamber of Veterinarians, Cats Protection).
Good to know: Many Christmas cookies contain nuts. Almonds and walnuts are high in fats and oils and can make cats unwell (Cats Protection).

Questions
My cat ate Christmas cookies. What should I do?
Check what was in them and note how much she ate. If they contained raisins or chocolate, call your vet or an emergency vet clinic right away, even if your cat seems fine. Otherwise call your vet if she vomits or gets diarrhea.
