Can degus eat carrot tops?

Yes, but only a little: degus can eat carrot tops. PDSA lists carrot tops only in very small amounts, the Zürcher Tierschutz for several times a week. PDSA suggests them once or twice a week and says they can cause bloating. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) names carrots with their greens among vegetables for winter in small amounts, so we err on the side of caution.

Good to know: PDSA suggests a small portion of leafy greens and vegetables only once or twice a week, and the Swiss animal welfare society (STS) 2 to 3 times a week in small pieces.
