Can degus eat broccoli?

Better not: degus shouldn’t eat broccoli. Broccoli is a type of cabbage, and the Zürcher Tierschutz says never to feed cabbage – PDSA allows very small amounts. PDSA lists broccoli among foods degus can have once or twice a week in very small amounts because it can cause bloating, and for cauliflower it names only the leaves and stalk. The Zurich animal welfare society (Zürcher Tierschutz) says degus should never have cabbage, and cauliflower is a cabbage too, so we err on the side of caution.
