Can degus eat corn?

Better not: degus shouldn’t eat corn. Corn is a grain, and the Zürcher Tierschutz says degus should never have grains, but PDSA lists sweet corn once a month. PDSA limits it that much because of the sugar. Since the Zurich animal welfare society (Zürcher Tierschutz) rules out grains, we err on the side of caution.

Good to know: None of the degu sources mentions popcorn specifically – it’s made from corn.
