Can hamsters eat melon?
Yes, but only a little: hamsters can eat melon. PDSA lists melon among suitable fruits and calls it a well-established choice. It doesn’t name a specific variety.
How to serve it: a small piece
Good to know: We found no hamster-specific source on watermelon, honeydew or the seeds specifically. For dwarf hamsters, Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) advises against fruit entirely, and Blue Cross mentions fruit as an occasional treat for Syrian hamsters only.
