Can budgies eat bread?

Better not: budgies shouldn’t eat bread. The German Animal Welfare Federation lists table scraps and salty food as unsuitable. The AAV says birds shouldn’t get highly salted foods. Purdue, on the other hand, counts bread in the grain group, which should be no more than half the diet, so we err on the side of caution.

Good to know: We found no budgie source that recommends bread.
