Can budgies eat cranberries?
Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat cranberries. The AAV says cranberries can be offered to birds, though some birds avoid them because of their sour taste. Dried ones should be natural, unsulfured and unsweetened.
How to serve it: fresh, or dried without sugar, one berry
Good to know: The German Animal Welfare Federation says to offer fruit only in small amounts because of its sugar, and RSPCA Australia calls fruit a treat. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT), on the other hand, lists fruit as part of the daily diet, so we err on the side of caution.
