Can budgies eat figs?
Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat figs. The Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) says figs can be offered to birds, but only in moderation because of their natural sugar.
How to serve it: fresh, a small piece
Good to know: None of our budgie-specific sources mentions figs. The German Animal Welfare Federation says to offer fruit only in small amounts because of its sugar, and RSPCA Australia calls fruit a treat. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT), on the other hand, lists fruit as part of the daily diet, so we err on the side of caution.
