Can budgies eat grapes?
Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat grapes. Grapes appear on the fruit lists of the RSPCA and UC Davis, and RSPCA Australia names them among fruits that are digested slowly.
How to serve it: washed, half a grape
Good to know: The Merck Veterinary Manual describes grapes as a risk for dogs; we found no bird source saying the same for budgies. The German Animal Welfare Federation says to offer fruit only in small amounts because of its sugar, and RSPCA Australia calls fruit a treat. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT), on the other hand, lists fruit as part of the daily diet, so we err on the side of caution.
