Can budgies eat rowan berries?

Only a little

Yes, but only a little: budgies can eat rowan berries. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) gives rowan berries as its first fruit example. The German Animal Welfare Federation lists them too. The RSPCA also names rowan among native berries.

How to serve it: ripe, unsprayed, not picked by a road

Good to know: The RSPCA warns that some native berries are poisonous, so only pick what you know for sure. The German Animal Welfare Federation says to offer fruit only in small amounts because of its sugar, and RSPCA Australia calls fruit a treat. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT), on the other hand, lists fruit as part of the daily diet, so we err on the side of caution.
