Can chinchillas eat peanuts?

Better not: chinchillas shouldn’t eat peanuts. Blue Cross says to avoid peanuts because they’re too high in fat. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) says chinchillas don’t tolerate nuts in general.
