Can hamsters eat pears?
Yes, but only a little: hamsters can eat pears. PDSA, Woodgreen and the German Animal Welfare Federation list pear as suitable fruit. Like any fruit, the Swiss animal welfare society (STS) says to offer it rarely and in small amounts.
How to serve it: washed, a small piece
Good to know: For dwarf hamsters, Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) advises against fruit entirely, and Blue Cross mentions fruit as an occasional treat for Syrian hamsters only.
