Can hamsters eat rose hips?
Yes, but only a little: hamsters can eat rose hips. The German Animal Welfare Federation lists rose hips as suitable fruit for hamsters. Like any fruit, the federation says to give only small amounts.
How to serve it: washed, just a little
Good to know: Our other hamster sources don’t mention rose hips. For dwarf hamsters, Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) advises against fruit entirely, and Blue Cross mentions fruit as an occasional treat for Syrian hamsters only.
