Can hamsters eat yogurt drops?

Better not: hamsters shouldn’t eat yogurt drops. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) says store-bought treats like yogurt drops should be strictly avoided. They often contain sugar, molasses or honey. The Swiss animal welfare society (STS) also advises against rodent treat sticks and drops altogether.

Good to know: The German Animal Welfare Federation warns that sugary food can make the cheek pouches stick together and become inflamed.
