Can rats eat broccoli?
Better not: rats shouldn’t eat broccoli. The Zurich animal welfare society (Zürcher Tierschutz) calls all cabbages unsuitable without naming broccoli or cauliflower. Both appear on the PDSA’s chart of safe fruit and veg for rats, though, and RSPCA Australia lists broccoli among daily vegetables. The University of Minnesota says rats should never be fed cabbage, yet includes broccoli among foods you can offer. The Swiss animal welfare society (STS) lists both cooked. We count broccoli and cauliflower as kinds of cabbage, so we err on the side of caution.
Better choices, for example
