Can chinchillas eat grapes?

Better not: chinchillas shouldn’t eat grapes. Chinchillas will happily eat grapes, but PDSA says they’re very high in sugar and can upset the stomach, so they’re best avoided. Germany’s Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) also rules out fruit.

Good to know: As an occasional treat, the TVT suggests dried rose hips instead.
